We are proud to Introduce the all-new Shanghai Community Band!  If you play an instrument and would like to join a fun-loving, non-threatening ensemble, then this is the group for you.  We will rehearse weekly on a wide variety of concert band music.  The repertoire of the band includes several musical genres that would appeal to any age group, from Classical to popular tunes, including movie themes, jazz, big band, show music, military marches, as well as the compositions of local composers.  

All ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds are welcome, and no audition is needed.  Just as long as you are past the beginner level on your instrument, you are welcome to join the ensemble. The band will meet weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Shanghai Community International School Band Room, and will begin rehearsals on Sunday, November 20, 2011.  The band will participate in numerous performances in the Shanghai community over the year, including several concerts at community events.  Our current director is Mindy Ruskovich.
